Holiday Card Game for Kids & Adults

On the 12th day of Christmas, players in the game "12 Days" bid for each of the 12 days of Christmas using cards (valued 1 through 12 points) from the Gift deck. This deck includes all the gifts "My true love gave to me," from a partridge in a pear tree to twelve drummers drumming - plus one card each for Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

To set up the game, the Day cards are arranged in numerical order, with the first day of Christmas on top. Each player starts with 12 Gift cards in their hand. At the beginning of each round, players choose one card from their hand and pass it, face down, to the player on their left as their gift.

Players then lay one Gift card face down on the table. Once all players are ready, they reveal their played Gift cards simultaneously. The lowest valued card is the "best" gift and wins the Day. The winner of the Day takes the top card off of the Day card deck. If two players tie for the lowest valued Gift card, the next lowest value wins the Day card.

Each Day card is worth as many points as its number (Day 4 is worth 4 points). There are only 12 Day cards to go around, so players must be strategic in using their good Gift cards, as they'll also score points for any Gift cards remaining in their hand. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
